AI Governance: Establishing the Principles and Frameworks that Enable Trustworthy AI

As Artificial Intelligence becomes increasingly embedded in public‑sector operations, the need for strong, transparent, and accountable AI governance has never been more critical. The Government of Canada is committed to ensuring that AI systems are designed, deployed, and managed in a way that is safe, ethical, and aligned with public values.

In this webinar, we will explore how Shared Services Canada (SSC) is advancing that commitment by establishing robust AI governance practices that uphold ethical, legal, and operational standards across the organization. We will discuss why governance is essential to enabling trustworthy AI, how it supports responsible innovation, and what foundational elements are required to ensure that AI solutions deliver meaningful and safe value to federal departments and Canadians.

Participants will gain insight into SSC’s approach to governance frameworks, risk mitigation, policy alignment, and oversight mechanisms key components that help ensure AI technologies are adopted both confidently and responsibly across the Government of Canada.
