The Northern Alberta branch of the itSMF invites you to join us on Tuesday, September 15, 2009 for our first presentation of the season:
Using best practices and frameworks to drive Enterprise Cost Reduction
with Guest Speaker: Rhys Morgan, Deloitte & Touche LLP
|
Given the current economic situation, organizations are looking at opportunities to develop large, sustainable enterprise wide cost savings. These attempts are becoming more and more prevalent in organizations as budgets are being reduced and departments are being asked to deliver more with less while maintaining, or in some cases improving, service levels. The IT department is one department which directly impacts the bottom line of an organization and therefore IT Enterprise Cost Reduction and IT Cost Optimization are terms that are being heralded as a way for IT to demonstrate not only its effectiveness, but also its efficiency by reducing costs and removing idle capacity or erroneous costs in the IT Enterprise. However, for a typical organization looking to improve their margins, where would you start? How would you even begin to identify the opportunities for operational cost reduction or increased efficiency with so many various facets of the typical IT environment? Join us as we discuss how to leverage Best Practice frameworks, namely ITIL and COBIT, in multiple ways to identify the key areas of spend in an IT Enterprise, identify opportunities for cost reduction, and then leveraging the best practice principles to ensure these opportunities are realized by tangible cost savings.
